Philips Stadion - PSV Eindhoven (Netherlands)

The Philips Stadion is a football stadium in Eindhoven with a maximum capacity of 35,000. Stadium is one of the Elite League and hosted the final of the UEFA Cup between Middlesbrough FC and Sevilla FC in 2006 and several matches of the UEFA Euro 2000. The Philips Stadion is the home of PSV Eindhoven, one of the most successful football clubs in the Netherlands, since its founding in 1913. PSV, often nicknamed Boeren, Dutch for farmers, won 20 national championships in 2007 and was crowned European champion in 1988 after defeating SL Benfica. One of the seats in the stadium is kept empty as a tribute to the former president of Philips and PSV fan Frits Philips, who died at age 100 in 2005.
