The Azadi Stadium is a stadium primarily used for football matches in Tehran. It opened in 1971 and used to have a maximum capacity of 110,000. It is the largest stadium in the country and has one of the largest video screens in the world. Esteghlal FC and Persepolis FC, two of the most popular sports clubs in Iran, the use of the stadium for their home games. The national soccer team of Iran also use the stadium for most of their home games.
