The Signal Iduna Park
Until 2005 known as the Westfalenstadion, is a 80,000 capacity stadium UEFA Elite in the western German city of Dortmund. All the seating capacity is 65,000 for international matches. The 2006 FIFA soccer stadium hosted several World Cup matches, including semi-final between Germany and Italy and the quarter-final between Brazil and Ghana. Tenants Borussia Dortmund won the Champions League by UEFA in 1997 and several championships. They are nicknamed Schwarzgelben and Die was founded in 1909. The national soccer team of Germany, also known as Die Mannschaft, use the stadium for some of its home games. They won the World Cup several times.
