The Workers Stadium is a football stadium and athletics in Beijing, with a capacity of 64,000. It opened in 1959 and hosted a series of football matches Summer Olympic Games 2008. The stadium also hosted the 2004 Asian Cup Final, won by the national soccer team after defeating Japan's Republic of China. Beijing Guoan, one of the biggest sports clubs in the country are renters. The national soccer team of the People's Republic of China also sometimes use the stadium. In 2002, was one of 32 teams in the FIFA World Cup and reached the final of the Asian Cup in 2004. The Workers' Indoor Arena, which opened for the World Championship of Table Tennis, is located near the Workers Stadium.
