Westpac Stadium, nicknamed the mold or the Ring of Fire, is a stadium in the city of Wellington. It opened in 2000 and hosted the Australian football, cricket, football, rugby and rugby matches and concerts. Wellington Phoenix FC use the stadium for their home games. They joined the A-League, the largest national soccer league of Australia in 2007. They played a friendly against Los Angeles Galaxy, the club of the famous English midfielder David Beckham, the same year compared to 31,000 spectators, which became a record attendance for the club.
